PRIVACY POLICY


This policy covers how VGPA treats personal information that VGPA collects and receives, including information related to your past use of VGPA products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, gamer handle, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.
This privacy policy only applies to VGPA.
This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that VGPA does not own or control, or to people that VGPA does not employ or manage.


INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE


VGPA collects personal information when you join the VGPA and obtain membership, register with the VGPA Society, when you use VGPA products or services, when you visit VGPA pages or the pages of certain VGPA partners, and when you enter promotions or sweepstakes. VGPA may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.


When you register for the VGPA Society or join the VGPA (agree to membership) we ask for information such as your name, address, email address, birth date, gender, ZIP code, occupation, industry, gamer handle and personal interests. When you register with VGPA and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.


The VGPA produces an annual national VGPA directory and will include information about current, paid VGPA members. As a paid VGPA member you are allowed optional exclusion from the national VGPA directory, which will be produced annually.


To be excluded from the national VGPA directory, you are required to send a Request for Exclusion notice to the VGPA Membership department. Please note that the deadline for Request for Exclusion is May 1 of the current membership year. E-mail requests must be sent on or before this date and mail requests must be postmarked by this date. Please note that, due to security concerns, attachments cannot be accepted. Accordingly, any notification regarding membership submitted electronically with an attachment will not be received or processed.




VGPA collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our business partners, including information about your use of services that we offer.
VGPA automatically receives and records information from your computer and browser, including your IP address, VGPA cookie information, software and hardware attributes and the page you request.
VGPA uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.



FAMILY MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT
When a child under age 17 attempts to obtain membership with the VGPA, we ask the child to have a parent or guardian create a VGPA Family Membership account to obtain parental permission.
VGPA does not contact children under age 17 about special offers or for marketing purposes without a parent's permission.
VGPA does not ask a child under age 17 for more personal information, as a condition of participation, than is reasonably necessary to participate in a given activity or promotion.
